Even good boaters will occasionally make a mistake. The Kern was running a healthy 5000 cfs when the paddler of a yellow Sleek (with a metalflake gold helmet) inadvertently dropped into a hole on the river right side of Ewings Rapid. A few rodeo moves later he popped out of the hole nearly as easily as he went in, well...almost.
