Brandon Prince works on a cartwheel at Rapid Shooters rock, below Ewings rapid, on the Powerhouse Run of the Kern River.
Normally this rock is high and dry and is where Rapid Shooters sets up to photograph boaters coming through Ewings rapid. On this day the river was running around 5000 cfs. At this level a small ender spot develops on the downstream left corner of the rock.
The new generation of playboats, such as the RPM, can do squirts, enders, cartwheels and other moves in surprisingly small eddy lines, holes and seams. The concept of a "playspot" has changed, and it has opened up a new dimension in boating.
