Important information about River Notes.
As the sun moves south to bring Aussies their Summer, the northern hemisphere jet stream strengthens, and the Pacific storm track sags southward. We've already had a couple of weak systems move through California, and on again, off again showers are forecast for Northern California through Thursday. The MRF computer model suggest that on Wednesday, showers may reach as far south as the San Francisco Bay area on the coast, and Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra. We'll see.
Today's CamPhotos are of Frank Wellbaum, Dave St. Aubin, Mike Ruehle, and Dennis Veale. While most of us have been whining about the low water on the Upper and Lower Kern, these guys have been out boating just about every weekend, and having a great time. After two days of boating with Frank, Dave and Dennis, Mike got so excited about the low water play potential that he purchased a Dagger Medieval!

It's official! The Kern River will be the site of the 2000 U.S. Canoe/Kayak Slalom Nationals!
The water from Isabella continues to be released from the Dam directly to the Kern River. This means that with a release of 420 cfs, the flow on the Dam Run is about the same as it is in the summer when the total release from Isabella is 995 cfs and 575 cfs is going through Borel Canal. Terry, Dana, and Kenny said it was a lot of fun last weekend!
