Whitewater Category
Primary Park & Play - Short (under
7'). Designed primarily for high performance moves
using features of the river, such as holes, waves, eddylines,
green waves, etc. Specialized hulls allow
for great aerial moves, vertical bow/stern moves, even flips
and loops.
Freestyle
River Runner -
Freestyle boats that have been designed to run the river. Can
do some to most of the moves a Park & Play boat can do, but
include features intended to make the boat more comfortable
and forgiving when spending the day playing and running rapids.
Great boats to buy as first boats or to make your "usual"
whitewater runs more play-oriented and challenging.
River Runner - Longer,
higher volume boats that are great river runners. Usually
good at front surfing, bigger water runs, and overnight
tripping.
Primary Creek - Usually
high volume with blunt ends to run higher gradient creeks and
rivers. Increased rocker to help to turn fast, boof, and resurface
quickly after a steep drop or waterfall. Usually room for overnight
gear.
