Learn to Guide Class II-IV Whitewater Rafting
Sierra South’s Guide School is a class for those interested in guiding to earn money? You will first learn to guide the Class II-III section of the Upper or Lower Kern River for Sierra South’s rafting season. This course gives a beginning rafter the foundation necessary to become a commercial Class II-III whitewater guide. No prior experience is necessary. For those who would like to work on the more demanding Class IV section of the Upper or Lower Kern for the upcoming rafting season you will continue with more intensive training geared toward advanced guide skills, river reading, river rescue, safety, and much more.
Completion of this course is required to commercially guide for us. However, it does not guarantee a whitewater position with Sierra South. You must be invited to attend Guide School, so fill out an application on our employment page.
