Help Me Choose a Rafting Trip
Sierra South is no longer offering kayak, SUP, or boat rentals.
Looking for a nice relaxing day on Isabella Lake? Sierra South has both lake kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for rent! All rentals include necessary paddling gear; life jacket, paddle, and lake permit. These rentals are only to be used on the lake and the renter must be capable of loading and transporting all equipment to and from the lake. Foam car racks are available for rent and tie-downs available for purchase.
Sierra South maintains a rental/demo whitewater kayak fleet of more than 75 boats for our customers, including nearly all of the newest models. Renters must be competent paddlers and will be screened by a senior staff member. All whitewater rentals are restricted to the KR3 section of the Kern River. For those interested in purchasing a whitewater kayak, some rental credits may be applied toward the purchase of a NEW boat. Transporting boats to and from the river is the customers’ responsibility.
Have a boat, but need some gear? We’ve got you covered. Life jackets, paddles, sprayskirts, helmets, and other paddling gear are all available to rent separately.
A wetsuit package is available to rent when needed. Wetsuits are highly recommended on the Lickety Split and Lickety Blaster and/or required on Combos, Inflatable Kayak trips and Class IV-V trips through mid-June depending upon weather and water conditions. Package includes a neoprene Farmer John style wetsuit, nylon paddling jacket (to be worn over the suit), and neoprene booties. Availability is limited, please pre-book prior to your trip.

You must sign a liability release and risk assumption agreement upon arrival, to rent gear. Please call 24 hours in advance to inquire about availability. All rentals must be returned by 5 p.m. or additional charges will apply.
Rental Cancellation Policy:
Rentals must be made at least 72 hours prior to the trip. No refunds will be made for cancellations less than 72 hours prior to the trip. Liability waivers and a rental waiver must be filled out in the store prior to taking your rental. A credit card is required to have on file for a security deposit to cover any loss.
