The Lower Kern Full Day Class II-III river trip is a mellow, easy going trip, through a variety of terrain. The perfect choice for those seeking a lot of fun with a reduced “fear” factor. 

Lower Kern Full Day Class II-III

The Lower Kern Full Day Class II-III river trip is a mellow, easy-going trip through a variety of terrain ranging from granite boulder slabs to thick sections of overhanging trees. This is the perfect choice for families and those seeking a lot of fun with a reduced “fear” factor. Learn how to paddle as a team, swim in the calm pools, challenge yourself to a cliff jump! Break away from the norms and enjoy this full day of whitewater rafting! The guides will prepare you a fully catered lunch partway through the day which will keep you energized for the second half of the trip. This section of the Kern River is 8 miles long.

Schedule & Duration

  • 6-8 hours
  • Months of operation: May – September
  • Trip Arrival Time: 9:30 am.
  • Trip Departure Time: 10:00 am daily.
  • We suggest you arrive at the store 30-45 minutes prior to the trip departure time. This will allow sufficient time to check-in and change into wetsuits if needed or required. Our trips must leave on schedule. Don’t miss the boat!


  • Minimums: Age: 8 Weight: 50lbs (We may weigh small children)
  • High Water Protocol Minimum: Age: 12
  • Maximum Weight: 300lbs
  • All trips require a minimum number of 6 guests. If participant numbers are not met we will notify you and provide various options for your trip to go.
  • Please wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. No flip-flops or bare feet. You must wear tennis shoes, water shoes, or sandals that have a heel strap.

All of our trips may be adjusted based on water levels and/or other conditions.

Additional Information

  • Hearty Deli-style lunch provided.
  • Price does not include gratuity, so if you like the ride…it’s ok to tip your guide!
